Mississippi High School Basketball - South Panola can't hold off Cleveland
December 7, 2010: Cleveland, MS 38732 The Cleveland Wildcats basketball team scored 34 points and held the visiting South Panola Tigers to 29 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Wildcats now sport a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winona for a non-league contest on Friday, December 10. Cleveland will meet a Tigers team coming off a 52-34 non-league win over Eupora (Eupora, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 7-3.
The Tigers (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Clinton (Clinton, MS). The Arrows enter the non-league contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, Clinton was nudged by Brandon (Brandon, MS), 59-47, in a non-league contest.
Game Summary
The Cleveland High Lady Wildcats controlled the tempo of the Championship game in the CHS Winter Classic thereby securing the hard fought victory over defending champion South Panola Lady Tigers. Tenacioius defense led the way.
