The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Italy Gladiators (Italy, TX) and the visiting Meridian Yellowjackets (Meridian, TX), observed Italy's football squad edge Meridian by a count of 28-27.

The Gladiators now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Dawson for a 2A-2 Region III District 10 contest on Friday, October 9. Italy will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 33-32 league loss to Wortham (Wortham, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-4.

Coming up next, the Yellowjackets encounter the Frost Polar Bears (Frost, TX) in a 2A-2 Region III District 10 contest, on Friday, October 9. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Polar Bears go into the contest with a 0-5 record after their 44-28 league loss to Gateway Charter Academy (Dallas, TX).
