Olton Mustangs (Olton, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Farwell Steers (Farwell, TX), 58-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Olton upgrades its record to 17-7 on the season. The Mustangs host Springlake-Earth (Earth, TX) to play the Wolverines in a 1A-1 Region I District 5 bout on Friday, January 27. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 1-6.

Next up, the Steers play the Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX) in a 1A-1 Region I District 5 bout, on Friday, January 27. Farwell will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 68-42 non-league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX).
