California High School Softball - Berkeley holds off Alameda
April 20, 2011: Alameda, CA 94501 Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Alameda Hornets (Alameda, CA), 5-3 in a league challenge.
The Yellowjackets now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dougherty Valley for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 22. Berkeley will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Alhambra (Martinez, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-6.
With the loss, Alameda falls to 15-3 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to El Cerrito (El Cerrito, CA) to battle the Gauchos in a Alameda Contra Costa challenge on Friday, April 29.
