Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits (Long Beach, CA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Westfield Mustangs (Houston, TX), 53-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Long Beach Poly upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Jackrabbits host Jordan (Long Beach, CA) to play the Panthers in a Moore bout on Monday, January 7. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 8-10. Jordan won 45-30 in their recent non-league bout against St. Anthony (Long Beach, CA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Klein Oak Panthers (Spring, TX) in a 5A Region II District 13 bout, on Thursday, January 3. Westfield will attempt to upgrade on its 17-5 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 75-54 non-league loss to Alief Elsik (Houston, TX).
