Florida High School Baseball - Fivay can't hold off Pasco
March 28, 2013: Hudson, FL 34669 In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Pasco Pirates baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Fivay Falcons.
The Pirates (10-6) will now prepare for their game against Zephyrhills (Zephyrhills, FL). The Bulldogs go into the 5A District 8 game with a 3-13 record. In their last game, Zephyrhills was edged by Boca Ciega (Gulfport, FL), 7-4, in a non-league game.
The Falcons (8-11) will now prepare for their game against Wesley Chapel (Wesley Chapel, FL). The Wildcats go into the 5A District 8 game with a 12-5 record. In their last game, Wesley Chapel tipped Gateway (Kissimmee, FL), 9-8, in a non-league game.
Game Summary
Pasco trailed 4-0 early, but rallied back for an exciting 6-5 walkoff victory against Fivay in their Dunedin Spring Tournament finale. Logan Johnson's game ending single scored Luis Salas and AJ Rainaldi to give Pasco their 10th win of the season. Derek Dious was 4-4 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Devean Phillips, making his varsity debut, threw 3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to earn the win. Pasco returns to action next Tuesday against Zephyrhills.
