West Virginia High School Football - Marietta drops to Parkersburg
September 4, 2009: Parkersburg, WV 26101 In Friday's non-league game, the Parkersburg Big Reds (Parkersburg, WV) football team knocked off the visiting Marietta Tigers (Marietta, OH), by a final score of 28-0.
The Big Reds (1-1) will now prepare for their game against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV). The Black Eagles come into the Mountain State game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, South Charleston toppled Washington (Charleston, WV), 28-21, in a league game.
The Tigers now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Philadelphia for a non-league game on Friday, September 11. Marietta will battle a Quakers team coming off a 54-7 non-league win over West Branch (Beloit, OH). The Quakers record now stands at 2-0.
