In their next game, the Panthers face the Mira Costa Mustangs (Manhattan Beach, CA) in a Bay challenge, on Friday, April 27. Palos Verdes Peninsula will attempt to move on its 10-6 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 15-13 non-league loss to Tesoro (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA).
Game Summary
The Peninsula Panthers fell to host Redondo Union, 8-6. Katy Black got Peninsula off to a good start, with a goal in the first minute of play (assisted by Sherry -- "Black to Black"). Redondo answered with a goal, but Sherry put the Panthers ahead again. That was the last Peninsula lead, as the Sea Hawks controlled the rest of the game. The halftime deficit was 5-3, which grew to 8-3 just 6 minutes into the second half. Taylor Raymond, Kei-Lin Chang, and Sherry then put together a 3-goal run with 12 minutes to play. Unfortunately, there was no further scoring as Redondo held the ball for the last 6 minutes and 31 seconds. Goalkeeper Kelly Allison turned in a fine game with 13 saves.
