Mississippi High School Basketball - New Site can't hold off Forest

The Forest Bearcats basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting New Site Royals to 56 in the Bearcats non-league victory on Saturday.

The Bearcats now sport a 17-4 record. They play next when they travel to Raleigh for a 3A Region 6 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Forest will meet a Lions team coming off a 35-27 league win over St. Andrews Episcopal (Ridgeland, MS). The Lions record now stands at 10-8.

The Royals (18-4) will now prepare for their contest against Hatley (Amory, MS). The Tigers come into the 2A Region 1 contest with a 13-8 record. In their last contest, Hatley was nudged by Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS), 61-43, in a non-league contest.
