The Iona Prep Gaels basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting The Park School of Buffalo Pioneers to 49 in the Gaels non-league victory on Saturday.
The Gaels now sport a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mt. St. Michael Academy for a Catholic AA - New York contest on Wednesday, January 3. Iona Prep will battle a Mountaineers team coming off a 71-49 non-league win over White Plains (White Plains, NY). The Mountaineers record now stands at 2-2.
The Pioneers (6-3) will now prepare for their contest against St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute (Buffalo, NY). The Marauders come into the Monsignor Martin contest with a 5-5 record. In their last contest, St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute edged Kenmore East (Tonawanda, NY), 97-43, in a non-league contest.
