September 14, 2018: Olive Hill, KY 41164 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) and the visiting Nicholas County Bluejackets (Carlisle, KY), observed West Carter's football squad thwart Nicholas County by a count of 35-14.
The Comets now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Russell for a 3A District 5 contest on Friday, September 21. West Carter will play a Red Devils squad coming off a 49-0 non-league win over Boyd County (Ashland, KY). The Red Devils record now stands at 2-3.
Coming up next, the Bluejackets play the Bishop Brossart Mustangs (Alexandria, KY) in a 1A District 5 contest, on Friday, September 21. Nicholas County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Mustangs go into the contest with a 3-1 record after their 6-2 non-league win over Newport (Newport, KY).
