October 1, 2011: Marrero, LA 70072 In Saturday's non-league game, the St. Augustine Purple Knights (New Orleans, LA) football team knocked off the host Archbishop Shaw Eagles (Marrero, LA), by a score of 28-6.
The Purple Knights (2-3) will now prepare for their game against Holy Cross (New Orleans, LA). The Tigers come into the 4A District 10 game with a 0-5 record. In their last game, Holy Cross was dropped by Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, LA), 34-13, in a non-league game.
The Eagles now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Belle Chasse for a 4A District 9 game on Saturday, October 8. Archbishop Shaw will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 53-24 non-league win over Vandebilt Catholic (Houma, LA). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-0.
