Virginia High School Basketball - Granby nips Albemarle
January 21, 2017: Norfolk, VA 23505 Granby Comets (Norfolk, VA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA), 71-69 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Granby upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Comets host Washington (Norfolk, VA) to play the Mighty Bookers in a 3A Conference 27 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Mighty Bookers come into the bout with a record of 4-13. Washington lost 71-69 in their recent non-league bout against Denbigh (Newport News, VA)
Next up, the Patriots play the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) in a 3A Conference 29 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 17-2 season record. The Flying Flucos come into the bout with a 1-16 record after their 57-48 league loss to Orange County (Orange, VA).
