Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Higley Knights (Gilbert, AZ) and the host Maricopa Rams (Maricopa, AZ), witnessed Higley's softball squad tip Maricopa by a count of 3-2.

The Knights now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Apache Junction for a non-league test on Friday, March 1. Higley will encounter a Prospectors team coming off a 18-7 non-league win over McClintock (Tempe, AZ). The Prospectors record now stands at 3-3.

The Rams (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Tempe (Tempe, AZ). The Buffaloes enter the non-league test with a 0-0 record.
