Game Summary
Gunn softball bested Santa Clara from the De Anza Division in a non-league game with 7-2 victory over the visiting Bruins on Thursday. The Bruins scored early in the second when Gianna Ramirez walked, advanced on a bunt by teammate Marissa Sousa, and scored on a passed ball. The Titans answered with a run in the bottom of second after Laura Kidder was hit by a pitch, advanced on a hit by Nikki Schwardt, and reached home on an error. The Titans added to their lead with a second run in the second by Claire Collins, who reached first on a base hit, stole second and third, and reached home on an RBI by Nicole Grimwood. The Titans scored 2 more runs in the 4th and 6th inning to seal the win. Sophomore Claire Klausner had another impressive performance with 14 strike-outs, allowing only 2 hits.
