New York High School Football - St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute defeats Bishop Timon-St. Jude
October 31, 2014: Buffalo, NY 14220 In Friday's league match, the visiting St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Marauders football squad scored a good 44-26 victory over the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers.
First Quarter
St Joes - after recovering fumble on games 2nd play - first play, Connor McKenna 32 yd pass from Dave Archer - bad snap, no kick
St Joes - after Louie Surace interception return to 15 yd line - Darren Thompson 15 yd run - McKenna 2 pt pass from Archer

HalfTime Notes:
- In a wild first half that saw the Maruaders cause 5 turnovers ( 4 ints and 1 fumble ), St Joes would return 2 of those interception returns into TDs, and have short fields on the other 2.
- St Joes would run only 10 offensive plays and have the ball for just 4:15 TOP in the half. But yet lead 30 - 8 at the break.
- Of those 10 plays, only pass was a 32 yd TD and Sr. Myles Young would take off on a run for 75 yds setting up the FG.

Game Notes:
- St Joes defense in all would create 7 turnovers. 5 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Both of those fumbles recovered by sophomore Naseer Jackson. Another sophomore Louie Surace Jr, would grab 2 interceptions ( 1 for a pick 6 ), Darren Thomson returned 1 for a score. Sr. Peter Masters would grab his team leading 6th interception, while Chris Schaefer would have the final 5th int for the Maruaders.
- Defense led by Sr. Connor McKenna with 8 Ts, 2 sacks, 1 TFL and 1 forced fumble. Jrs, Jacob Bomberski (8 Ts, 1 TFL) and Ryan Conschafter (7 Ts, 2 on specials). Sr. Peter Klopp and Jr. Chris Kutcha would add 5 a piece.
Overtime
Final Notes:
- Unbelievable number of 67 offensive plays for Timon and controlling the ball for almost 34 of games 48 minutes. St Joes would run only 26 offensive plays.
- With the win, St Joes earns 2nd seed in the MMAA playoffs and a first round bye next week.
