New York High School Baseball - Canandaigua Academy loses to Sutherland
May 2, 2014: Canandaigua, NY 14424 The Sutherland Knights baseball team scored 5 runs and limited the host Canandaigua Academy Braves to 2 in the Knights league victory on Friday.
The Knights (8-4) will now prepare for their match against Webster Thomas (Webster, NY). The Titans go into the non-league match with a 0-3 record.
The Braves (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Brighton (Rochester, NY). The Barons come into the Section 5 Monroe County III challenge with a 3-3 record.
Game Summary
The Sutherland Knights got a much needed win on Friday beating Canandaigua 5 to 2 at Evans Field. Junior righthander Brad Mills threw 6.1 innings of 3 hit ball for the victory. Mills pitched out of two bases loaded jams to preserve the victory. Michael Pringle led the Knights with a 3 for 3 game and 2 runs scored. Robbie Zielinski and Christian Toscano both registered sacrifice flys and Ben Swisher's bases loaded walk in the seventh inning broke a 2-2 tie.
