Mississippi High School Basketball - Brandon crushes Northeast Jones
December 30, 2008: Laurel, MS 39443 Brandon Bulldogs (Brandon, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS), 72-41 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Brandon upgrades its record to 14-1 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Petal (Petal, MS) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 31. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 8-5. Petal won 72-66 in their recent non-league bout against Collins (Collins, MS)
Next up, the Tigers play the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS) in a 4A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 6. Northeast Jones will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 62-53 non-league loss to Kemper County (DeKalb, MS).
