Pennsylvania High School Baseball - Seneca loses to Mercyhurst Prep
April 11, 2012: Erie, PA 16509 The Mercyhurst Prep Lakers baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Seneca Bobcats to 2 in the Lakers non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Lakers (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Iroquois (Erie, PA). The Braves come into the District 10 Region 5 test with a 1-1 record. In their last test, Iroquois was overwhelmed by North East (North East, PA), 11-10, in a non-league test.
With the defeat, Seneca falls to 2-4 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Fairview (Fairview, PA) to battle the Tigers in a District 10 Region 6 test on Friday, April 13. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 6-1. Fairview won 8-1 in their recent league test against Northwestern (Albion, PA)
Game Summary
Emmitt Lehman reached base all 5 times and scored 4 runs to lead the Lakers to victory. Lehman was spectacular in the field with some nifty plays on defense. He also added a double. Derrick Post went 3-4 with 2 rbi's and Ian Pertz was 3-4 with a rbi double. Sam Corritore picked up the win on the mound by pitching 4 innings without giving up a earned run.
