DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bishop Ireton Cardinals (Alexandria, VA), 74-62 in a league bout.

With the win, DeMatha upgrades its record to 14-3 on the season. The Stags host Gonzaga (Washington, DC) to encounter the Eagles in a Washington Catholic bout on Thursday, January 27. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 14-4.

Next up, the Cardinals encounter the Archbishop Carroll Lions (Washington, DC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 28. Bishop Ireton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record.
