New Jersey High School Lacrosse - Caldwell trounced by St. Peter's Prep
April 14, 2012: Jersey City, NJ 07302 In Saturday's league battle, the host St. Peter's Prep Marauders lacrosse team scored a close 7-2 win over the Caldwell .
The Marauders now have a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Morristown-Beard for a non-league battle on Wednesday, April 18. St. Peter's Prep will face a Crimson team coming off a 12-11 league loss to Columbia (Maplewood, NJ). The Crimson record now stands at 2-3.
In their next game, the face the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars (Montclair, NJ) in a Waterman bout, on Thursday, April 26. Caldwell will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record.
Game Summary
St. Peter's Prep broke open a close game to beat Caldwell 7-2 in Jersey City today. After a low scoring 1st half, the Marauders broke open the game in the 3rd and 4th quarters scoring 3 in each stanza. Kevin Mikovits lead the scoring with 3 goals and 1 assist and Alex Williams added 2. Will Simson won 9/13 faceoffs and Bret Brachman-Goldstein and Tyler Monaco picked up 6 and 5 ground balls, respectively. Dylan Rothenberg stopped 9 shots in the goal for his 5th win.
