Illinois High School Baseball - Wheeling loses to Prospect
April 13, 2011: Mt. Prospect, IL 60056 The Prospect Knights baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Wheeling Wildcats to 3 in the Knights league victory on Wednesday.
The Knights (9-2) will now prepare for their match against Elk Grove (Elk Grove Village, IL). The Grenadiers go into the Mid-Suburban - East match with a 2-5 record. In their last match, Elk Grove was overwhelmed by Hersey (Arlington Heights, IL), 10-3, in a league match.
The Wildcats (0-4) will now prepare for their match against Rolling Meadows (Rolling Meadows, IL). The Mustangs go into the Mid-Suburban - East match with a 6-3 record. In their last match, Rolling Meadows edged St. Viator (Arlington Heights, IL), 10-6, in a non-league match.
Game Summary
Jack Landwehr and Matt Molini had bases clearing doubles, and Pete Bonahoom, and Brad Gerdes had a multi hit game to lead the Knights offensively. Landwehr also earned his 3rd win of the year on the mound with 8 strikeouts.
