August 29, 2008: Birmingham, AL 35210 The Shades Valley Mounties football squad scored 31 points and restricted the visiting Hueytown Golden Gophers to 28 in the Mounties non-league victory on Friday.
The Mounties now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pell City for a 6A Region 7 battle on Friday, September 5. Shades Valley will face a Panthers squad coming off a 29-20 non-league loss to Shelby County (Columbiana, AL). The Panthers record now stands at 0-1.
