The Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV) basketball nipped the visiting South Charleston Black Eagles (South Charleston, WV), 60-59 in Saturday's league test.

The Spartans (12-1) will now prepare for their test against St. Albans (St. Albans, WV). The Red Dragons go into the Mountain State test with a 9-7 record. In their last test, St. Albans got by Ripley (Ripley, WV), 56-17, in a league test.

The Black Eagles now own a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they host George Washington for a Mountain State test on Wednesday, February 2. South Charleston will clash with a Patriots squad coming off a 60-32 league win over Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV). The Patriots record now stands at 10-4.
