North Carolina High School Basketball - Mallard Creek nudges Hopewell

February 8, 2013: Huntersville, NC 28078

Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC), 55-52 in a league game.

In their next game, the Mavericks face the West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A I-Meck game, on Tuesday, February 12. Mallard Creek will attempt to move on its 17-5 season record. The Lions enter the game with a 19-3 record after their 63-56 league win over Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC).

With the defeat, Hopewell moves to 5-16 on the year. The Titans host Vance (Charlotte, NC) to face the Cougars in a 4A I-Meck game on Tuesday, February 12. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 17-4. Vance won 62-49 in their recent league game against North Mecklenburg (Huntersville, NC)
