Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Thomas Jefferson Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) and the visiting Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), saw Thomas Jefferson Academy's basketball squad hold off Owen by a count of 68-67.

With the victory, Thomas Jefferson Academy upgrades its record to 14-8 on the campaign. The Gryphons host Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC) to play the Bearcats in a 2A/1A Western Highlands challenge on Thursday, February 9. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a record of 20-0. Hendersonville won 78-50 in their recent league challenge against Polk County (Columbus, NC)
