Game Summary
The Greenwich Cardinals completed their perfect 20-0 regular season at Danbury with a 2-1 victory. Greenwich put up two runs in the fourth and made them stand up as the Hatters left ten men on base. In the Cardinal fourth, Dylan Callahan led off with a single, stole second, and came in on a Taylor Olmstead single. Casey Gaynor followed with a single, and Cameron Fennell plated Olmstead with a ground-out. In the bottom of the inning the Hatters scored their only run on one-out walks to Rob Bonacci and J.P. Dennehy, and a single by Lenny Rodriguez. Four Greenwich hurlers (Ryan Marks, J.T. Hintzen, Stephen Fisher, and Kyle Dunster) held Danbury to six singles, with Marks picking up the win (4-0) and Dunster the save (7-8 in save chances). Ash Rao went the distance for Danbury (2-5). The Hatters will travel to Greenwich on Monday in a rematch in the first round of the FCIAC Tournament.
