California High School Basketball - Providence Hall succumbs to Bakersfield Christian
December 4, 2010: Santa Barbara, CA 93101 The Bakersfield Christian Eagles topped the host Providence Hall basketball team by a final score of 37-23 in Saturday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Eagles face the Caruthers Blue Raiders (Caruthers, CA) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, December 8. Bakersfield Christian will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
The (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Orcutt Academy (Orcutt, CA). The Spartans come into the Freelance contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Orcutt Academy beat Dunn (Los Olivos, CA), 38-10, in a non-league contest.

Game Summary: The Lady Eagles opened the season with a very good win over Providence Hall of Santa Barbara by the score of 37-23. The Eagles were led on the court by Senior Brittany Smith with 26 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals and 1 assist. Jordyn Hansen and Sara Sheahan both added 6 rebounds each, and Amy Pickinpaugh picked up 2 assists. Freshman Shannon Foy played a great defensive game. The rest of the Eagles did a solid job on Team Defense and slowing down the offense of Providence Hall. The BCHS Eagles open the season with a 1-0 mark!!!
