Texas High School Basketball - Bernalillo nips El Paso
December 8, 2016: El Paso, TX 79902 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Bernalillo Spartans (Bernalillo, NM) and the host El Paso Tigers (El Paso, TX), saw Bernalillo's basketball squad hold off El Paso by a tally of 59-54.
With the victory, Bernalillo improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Belen (Belen, NM) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 10. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-1. Belen won 69-62 in their recent non-league challenge against Lovington (Lovington, NM)
Next up, the Tigers play the Austin Panthers (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 1 challenge, on Friday, December 16. El Paso will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 2-8 record after their 52-39 non-league loss to Pebble Hills (El Paso, TX).
