Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Cardinal Newman Cardinals (Columbia, SC) and the visiting Northwood Academy Chargers (Charleston, SC), saw Cardinal Newman's basketball squad hold off Northwood Academy by a score of 50-46.

With the victory, Cardinal Newman improves its record to 17-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Hammond (Columbia, SC) to battle the Skyhawks in a SCISA AAA Region I challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Skyhawks come into the challenge with a record of 8-7. Hammond lost 41-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Wilson Hall (Sumter, SC)
