California High School Baseball - Morro Bay loses to Santa Ynez
April 30, 2012: Morro Bay, CA 93442 The Santa Ynez Pirates baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the host Morro Bay Pirates to 1 in the Pirates league victory on Monday.
The Pirates (17-6) will now prepare for their match against Nipomo (Nipomo, CA). The Titans go into the Los Padres match with a 10-7 record. In their last match, Nipomo was overwhelmed by Lompoc (Lompoc, CA), 2-1, in a league match.
The Pirates (5-17) will now prepare for their match against Cabrillo (Lompoc, CA). The Conquistadores go into the Los Padres match with a 13-13 record. In their last match, Cabrillo edged Santa Maria (Santa Maria, CA), 3-2, in a league match.
Game Summary
Santa Ynez won their game by a score of 8-1 over Morro Bay. Hunter Totemeier had a solid pitching performance once again improving his record to 4-1. Felipe Gonzalez hit his 4th homerun of the season and also contributed an RBI single. Brooks Filippin and Ryan Welker had two hits each while freshman Jake Pritcchard was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate. Colby Barrick. Zach DeMarcus, Lee Jensen and Nathan Thompson also had a hit. The Pirates improve their record to 17-6 overall and 6-4 in league. They take a break today as they travel to Anaheim Stadium to receive the CIF Academic Team Award for Baseball. Next game is a home match-up on Friday agianst Nipomo.
