Game Summary
Vasquez High School Mustangs traveled to Boron High School Bobcats for a battle for second place in the Desert Mountain League. Both teams coming into the game were 7 - 2 in league play. This was the second road game this week for the Mustangs and the second game that they had to deal with high wind conditions. Vasquez's Austin Daniels pitched 6 2/3 innings, scattering 3 hits while striking out 8. Austin also had a 2-run home run in the third which the umpires ruled a ground rule double. Video later clearly showed a home run. Both teams had their share of mistakes with the Boron Bobcats hanging in there until the seventh inning when they scored 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to take their first lead of the day as well as the win. Weston Lopez had the 2-out game winning single for the Bobcats. Can any more excuses be made???
