Texas High School Football - Bronte prevails Irion County
September 23, 2016: Mertzon, TX 76941 The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Bronte Longhorns (Bronte, TX) and the host Irion County Hornets (Mertzon, TX), observed Bronte's football squad defeat Irion County by a count of 28-18.
The Longhorns now own a 4-1 record. They play next when they host Miles for a 2A-2 Region II District 6 contest on Friday, October 7. Bronte will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 46-0 non-league win over Menard (Menard, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-3.
The Hornets (1-4) will now prepare for their match against Eldorado (Eldorado, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Eldorado was toppled by Cross Plains (Cross Plains, TX), 40-28, in a non-league match.
