The Lafayette Commodores crushed the host North Pontotoc Vikings baseball team by a tally of 18-6 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Commodores now hold a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Olive Branch for a non-league bout on Friday, March 8. Lafayette will face a Conquistadors team coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Tupelo (Tupelo, MS). The Conquistadors record now stands at 2-2.

Next, the Vikings face the Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS) in a 3A Region 1 bout, on Thursday, March 7. North Pontotoc will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Mustangs enter the bout with a 2-3 record after their 12-7 non-league win over Myrtle (Myrtle, MS).
