Texas High School Basketball - Summit beaten by Bowie
January 22, 2010: Arlington, TX 76018 The Bowie Volunteers ran past the visiting Summit Jaguars basketball team by a final score of 52-42 in Friday's league game.
In their next game, the Volunteers face the Martin Warriors (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 game, on Tuesday, January 26. Bowie will attempt to move on its 22-5 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 10-13 record after their 59-51 league win over Lamar (Arlington, TX).
With the defeat, Summit moves to 12-13 on the year. The Jaguars host Mansfield (Mansfield, TX) to face the Tigers in a 5A Region I District 4 game on Friday, January 29. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 16-11.
Fourth Quarter
Summit took a 38-36 lead into the fourth quarther. However, early in the quarter, the fouls began to mount and the calls affected the composure of the team. Summit All-World guard, Jazz Holman fouled out with 4+ minutes left and Summit down by 1. Summit could not muster any offense in the fourth quarter without Holman and the lead was increased down the stretch.
