Alabama High School Baseball - Fruitdale loses to Leroy
April 6, 2010: Leroy, AL 36548 The Leroy Bears baseball team scored 22 points and limited the visiting Fruitdale Pirates to 2 in the Bears non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Bears (25-2) will now prepare for their match against Washington County (Chatom, AL). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Area 4 match with a 3-12 record. In their last match, Washington County was overwhelmed by Clarke County (Grove Hill, AL), 21-0, in a non-league match.
The Pirates (1-8) will now prepare for their match against Marengo (Dixons Mills, AL). The Panthers go into the non-league match with a 1-2 record.
Game Summary
Just pounded the helpless Pirates of Fruitdale. One of those games were the starters are out early and everyone gets to play. Joseph, Ryan and Sammie gave up only 2 runs on 3 hits on the mound with Joseph fanning 6. Covington with the Grand Slam in the 12 run 2nd inning and back to back to back jacks from William, Brent and Will. 3 triples highlighted a 5 run 4th inning, coming from Ross, Bray and A.J. Portis. Bears tuning up for something special next week.
