New York High School Lacrosse - Poly Prep Country Day drops to Dalton
May 1, 2013: New York, NY 10128 In Wednesday's league contest, the Dalton Tigers (New York, NY) lacrosse squad routed the visiting Poly Prep Country Day Blue Devils (Brooklyn, NY), by a count of 9-4.
Coming up next, the Tigers confront the Fieldston Eagles (Bronx, NY) in a PSAL Area Ivy contest, on Wednesday, May 8. Dalton will attempt to advance on its 4-0 season record.
The Blue Devils now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they host Horace Mann for a PSAL Area Ivy contest on Friday, May 3. Poly Prep Country Day will confront a Lions squad coming off a 14-7 league loss to Fieldston (Bronx, NY). The Lions record now stands at 1-2.
Game Summary
Dalton dominates the 4th quarter! Poly Prep seemed poised to make a great comeback with a superb 3rd quarter. The Blue Devils played great defense won face offs and scored 2 goals to tie the game. They were on a roll.... But Dalton would have none of that as they came roaring back with 5 unanswered goals in the 4th quarter to win the game in style. Poly's goals were scored by Bernstein, Vogel, Andersen and Vigorita. Defensively Moser had some nice saves but they were not enough to stop the onslaught by Dalton. In a pivotal game for Poly they came up short in the 4th quarter. Poly has a tough road ahead the next game is a must win against Horace Mann Friday 4pm as their final home game. Next week Poly is on the road against Farrell, Trinity and Fieldston.
