The Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL) basketball nipped the host Dixon Dukes (Dixon, IL), 54-47 in Friday's league test.

The Pirates (8-3) will now prepare for their test against Streator (Streator, IL). The Bulldogs go into the Northern Illinois Big 12 test with a 1-12 record. In their last test, Streator was tipped by Sterling (Sterling, IL), 61-30, in a league test.
