California High School Baseball - Hillcrest Christian defeats Riverside Prep
May 22, 2012: Granada Hills, CA 91344 The Hillcrest Christian Eagles (Granada Hills, CA) baseball trounced the visiting Riverside Prep Silver Knights (Oro Grande, CA), 9-1 in Tuesday's non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Eagles encounter the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies (San Pedro, CA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, May 25. Hillcrest Christian will attempt to better on its 17-3 season record. The Huskies come into the contest with a 17-6 record after their 6-2 non-league win over Valley Christian Academy (Santa Maria, CA).
The Silver Knights now sport a 17-5 record.
Game Summary
Jason Bock went the distance scattering 5 hits, in a second round playoff win 9-1. Jason also struck out 8 and gave up only one unearned run. With that win his record moves to 7-1 on the season.
The offense was led by Josh clark who went 3-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Jason Bock also added a two run single Jake Hasse drove in a run in the first. David Clark scored three runs getting with a single and 3 walks.
The defense was led by Tanner Marcoe, Jake Hasse, and David clark turning two double plays. Anthony Aragon had a great game behind the platesaving numerous pitches in the dirt.
This win advances the Eagles to the quarter final round of the Division 7 CIF southern section playoffs.
