In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Alief Hastings Bears basketball team scored a tight 51-50 triumph over the Midland Lee Rebels.

In their next game, the Bears confront the Eisenhower Eagles (Houston, TX) in a 5A Region III District 18 match, on Monday, December 31. Alief Hastings will attempt to better on its 10-12 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 15-6 record after their 48-44 non-league win over Lewisville (Lewisville, TX).

With the defeat, Midland Lee moves to 8-6 on the year. The Rebels travel to Permian (Odessa, TX) to confront the Panthers in a 5A Region I District 2 match on Wednesday, January 2.
