New Jersey High School Basketball - Paramus Catholic nudges Bergen Catholic
January 6, 2009: Oradell, NJ 07649 Paramus Catholic Paladins (Paramus, NJ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Bergen Catholic Crusaders (Oradell, NJ), 53-52 in a league bout.
With the win, Paramus Catholic upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Paladins host Eastside (Paterson, NJ) to encounter the Ghosts in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 8. The Ghosts go into the bout with a record of 0-4.
Next up, the Crusaders encounter the Bergen Tech Knights (Hackensack, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 8. Bergen Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 54-15 non-league loss to St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, NJ).

PC started the game off quickly with 4pts by Manny Hernandez & 3pts by Andre Backwood. PC won the 1st quarter 18 -11.
Second Quarter
6pts by BC's Rob Aydin helped BC Cut into PC lead winning the 2nd quarter 16-12 .PC led at the half 30 to 27
Third Quarter
(2) 3'S By BC's Eric Flanagan & 5pts By Mark Richards propelled BC over PC in the 3rd quarter by winning the quarter 19-12 and taking the lead at the end of thr 3rd 46-42
Fourth Quarter
6pts in the 4th by PC's Justin Harris & hard defense by PC holding BC to 6 4th quarter pts helped PC to control the quarter by winnig the 4th quarter 11-6.and winning the game 53 to 52, in a hard fought game among the two teams.
