The La Vega Pirates routed the visiting Robinson Rockets basketball team by a final score of 79-52 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Pirates face the China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX) in a 3A Region III District 17 game, on Tuesday, January 21. La Vega will attempt to move on its 23-0 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 11-10 record after their 41-33 league win over Lorena (Lorena, TX).

With the defeat, Robinson moves to 5-1 on the year. The Rockets host Connally (Waco, TX) to face the Cadets in a 3A Region III District 17 game on Friday, January 24. The Cadets enter the game with a record of 9-15.
