Game Summary
It was another typical Escalon V. Ripon Christian game with the game in question until the final out. Elijah English got RC's offense going with a two out, two RBI double in the 2nd to drive in Clayton Prins and Arie den Dulk. English singled in the 3rd to drive in Clayton Prins who had led off the inning with a double. Clayton was the story of the game though as he pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up only 1 earned run while scoring three times and driving in three runs on a 5th inning home run. Robert Hull turned in the defensive play of the game as he laid out for a sinking line drive into right field and then doubled off the runner at first base. Justin Martinez was tough on the mound for Escalon, striking out 12, but gave up all 7 runs for the loss. Steve Vander Molen faced two batters in the 7th to pick up the save.
