The Pearl Pirates basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Canton Tigers to 58 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Pirates now sport a 23-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brookhaven for a 5A Region 6 contest on Friday, February 3. Pearl will confront a Panthers squad coming off a 67-61 non-league win over Natchez (Natchez, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 17-7.

Next up, the Tigers play the Lanier Bulldogs (Jackson, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 3. Canton will attempt to upgrade on its 8-17 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 17-6 record after their 74-72 league win over Callaway (Jackson, MS).
