Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) and the host Ripley Tigers (Ripley, MS), saw Belmont's basketball squad hold off Ripley by a score of 61-54.

With the victory, Belmont improves its record to 20-1 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Corinth (Corinth, MS) to battle the Warriors in a 3A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, January 26. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-9. Corinth lost 80-39 in their recent league challenge against Alcorn Central (Glen, MS)

Next up, the Tigers battle the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers (Meridian, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 23. Ripley will attempt to improve on its 12-7 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 5-11 record after their 49-46 league loss to Clarkdale (Meridian, MS).
