The Mitchell Kernels football team (Mitchell, SD), was beaten 28-7 in Saturday's league challenge with the visiting Riggs Governors (Pierre, SD)

The Governors (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against O'Gorman (Sioux Falls, SD). The Knights come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, O'Gorman achieved victory over Washington (Sioux Falls, SD), 21-10, in a league challenge.

The Kernels now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spearfish for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 19. Mitchell will meet a Spartans team coming off a 62-12 non-league loss to Brookings (Brookings, SD). The Spartans record now stands at 0-3.
