Coolidge Bears (Coolidge, AZ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils (Eloy, AZ), 56-39 in a league bout.

With the win, Coolidge upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Bears travel to Florence (Florence, AZ) to play the Gophers in a III Section II bout on Tuesday, January 29. The Gophers go into the bout with a record of 12-15.

Next up, the Dust Devils play the Horizon Honors Eagles (Phoenix, AZ) in a III Section II bout, on Tuesday, January 29. Santa Cruz Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 11-13 record after their 50-42 non-league loss to Northwest Christian (Phoenix, AZ).
