The Newton County Cougars football team (Decatur, MS), was ripped 32-0 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS)

The Rockets (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS). The Whippets come into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Kosciusko trounced Winona (Winona, MS), 30-7, in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southeast Lauderdale for a non-league challenge on Friday, August 29. Newton County will meet a Tigers team coming off a 34-6 non-league win over Newton (Newton, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.
