Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Anderson Cubs (Anderson, CA) and the host Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA), saw Anderson's basketball squad overcome Corning by a count of 57-49.

With the victory, Anderson upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Cubs travel to West Valley (Cottonwood, CA) to play the Eagles in a Northern challenge on Tuesday, January 20. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. West Valley won 55-45 in their recent league challenge against Central Valley (Shasta Lake, CA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Lassen Grizzlies (Susanville, CA) in a Northern challenge, on Tuesday, January 20. Corning will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record.
