Virginia High School Basketball - Fleming holds off Byrd
January 24, 2014: Roanoke, VA 24017 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) and the visiting Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), saw Fleming's basketball squad hold off Byrd by a tally of 60-59.
With the victory, Fleming improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Colonels travel to Northside (Roanoke, VA) to confront the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 28. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 3-11. Northside won 63-61 in their recent league challenge against Staunton River (Moneta, VA)
Next up, the Terriers confront the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) in a 3A Conference 31 challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Byrd will attempt to improve on its 10-4 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 63-61 league loss to Northside (Roanoke, VA).
